I've got some video on Digital8 cassettes that I can play through the camcorder. I want to transfer them to my PC. The software included with the camcorder will only let me transfer through usb and save to low-quality mpeg. I do have a capture card and it claims it has a composite input, but its interface is weird:

Note that the "A-in" is smaller than the "V-in". How can I connect a composite cable?

Any help greatly appreciated.

If you have a digital8 camcorder, don't connect it to your PC via analog intput!!

There should be an IEEE1394 (firewire) port on the camera, which you can connect to your PC and capture the DV stream 1:1.

There's a port marked DV on the camera, I suppose that that's what you're referring to. But I don't have that kind of a cable and I don't think my computer has that kind of a port either.
