Hi 2 All,

Few years ago i used small tool to reduce size (bitrate) of the CBR MP3 files (usually 320kbps) - tool remove "stuffing" data from such CBR file - all processing was made at the compressed MP3 level without recompression.
I lost name for this tool - anybody knows this tool or similar - i'v tried to found this small tool but without success.

:thanks:

very interesting, more compression in compressed file without decompress or change bitrate.
only curiosity, i'm not mp3 user but you can play the file without unpack after use mp3packer?

Yes. The OP describes it quite accurately. It adds or removes padding from the frames depending on how you use it..

No, it can’t. MP3packer just removes superfluous »padding data« in CBR files, effectively converting them into VBR.
To change the bitrate you need to do a full re-encode (incl. quality loss).
