DVD Decrypter Error "Not Enough System Resources"

I have repeatedly gotten an error from dvd decrypter that says "insufficient system resources" and soon thereafter my system becomes unavailable (no clicking on icons, if I'm listening to music it just stops, the system becomes entirely unavailable, no task manager, nolthing) . I have to restart the pc.

From what I've seen it could be related to having more than one core (of which I have a core i7).

Anyone have any suggestions or answers?

Both. I usually try ripping the dvd multiple times but I usually start to rip, it will rip for a couple minutes, then I get the error, then I have to restart the pc. It seems to happen despite it being the same dvd or another.

I would give you a list of the dvds but I cannot remember which one's they are as it has become a trend. The one I am currently working with is a very non-mainstream one that is a yoga dvd

It's region 1 (as well as ALL of the other dvds).

It doesn't do this with dvdshrink if that helps.

1) What O/S are you using?

2) Have you overclocked your system?

3) I believe it's possible to designate one core for running a program. You might want to try that

4) If your O/S is either Vista or Windows 7, you might try setting DVD Decrypter to XP compatibily mode

XP Pro. No overclocking. Tried setting affinity. Didn't work. I mean it worked but my pc still crashed.

All I can tell you is that you should have no problem at all using DVD Decrypter under WinXP - nor should you have any problem using it on a quad core machine...

This sounds more like a hardware problem than software. Try any of the free RAM testers available. Use the maximum test settings.

It may also be a kind of DVD protection. I remember ripping "The Dark Knight" with DVDDecrypter - DVDD fell into a very long loop, then Windows notified me about low resources and, short after the notification, DVDDecrypter crashed with "Out of memory" error. Maybe you should try another ripper.

Try ripping it with DVDFab HD Decrypter (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm) and see how you get on.

I've come to seriously dislike (hate) Dvdfab. I've had issues with dvdfab that I've never had with dvdshrink or dvd decrypter. I bought anydvd and use it with dvd decrypter. Sadly, because of this issue I've had to use dvdshrink more.

If the issue is the new protection I mentioned, DVDShrink will not help you either.

Then apparently it is not protection. I'm able to use dvdshrink with anydvd. I still rip the dvd it just isn't with dvd decrypter.

If, although you don't seem to NEED it for decrypting, for the sake of your curiosity simply delete (If I remember correctly, there's no "uninstall" needed) DVD Decrypter and then just reload it onto your system...

NEED. No, but it's highly preferred. I enjoy the special things like IFO parsing that others don't have.

Are you absolutely sure that the DVD is not scratched or damaged that it would yield read errors? This behaviour of DD is according to my experience due to errors in the structure of the DVD that are there either due to protections or reading a defective sector (that fills the memory with garbage, actually 1 changed bit could be enough to send DD to Walhalla).

If you re-read posts 2 and 3 in this thread, the O.P. stated in response to my questions that the problem is not limited to one DVD, rather it's limited to DVDDecrypter, as he/she also stated:It doesn't do this with dvdshrink...

I did reinstall. I didn't delete it but I just reinstalled it. Does that accomplish what you've asked?

I'd suggest that you first UNINSTALL it (I stand corrected regarding my earlier statement - DVD Decrypter DOES, in fact, use an "uninstaller")...
