hi all.
i'm thinking to get a PS3 to play everything.
"everything" means "audio only", i'm not interested in video, etc.
have cables or any other possiblity to use PS3 HDMI output to amplifier/decoder input analogs?
my preference is to play 5.1 waves.

forget PS3!!!
Sony will start to sold here Blu-Ray player BDP-S360 (after september 08) and with better price than PS3.
seems that is impossible use HDMI to analogs inputs but my doubt remains as my receiver (Sony) don't have HDMI inputs(only stereo analogs, 5.1 analogs, 2 opticals and 1 coaxial)
any chance?

By optical/coaxial SPDIF you can send standard AC3/DTS or stereo PCM, HDMI support TrueHD/DTS-HD and multichannel PCM.
For HD audio you need use 5.1 analog or another receiver.

Don't worry, standard AC3/DTS is enough to enjoy a good audio in BIG speakers.
The difference with HD audio is very little (only commercial interest to force a change in hardware).

great,
then don't need to buy a new receiver and Blu-Ray,
means more money here.
i will stay alive with just a few wounds in my face after she see the 4 big speakers. http://jpe.ru/gif/smk/sm34.gif
