A while ago I got a couple of DVDs from a friend.They played on my computer but not my DVD player which is a multi region player.
Can I convert if I try to copy them onto a couple of blank DVDs?
What format can I use in order to play them on my DVD player.
I am not technically minded in this field so can anyone tell me in simple terms please.I use DVD Shrink.
Hoping you can help me.

Hi Bob,
Are these "store-bought" DVD's?

@gwynfi
Hi!
Load the largest file from the DVD into GSpot and post a screen capture back here...

Welcome to the forum, in order to make backups you have to own the originals otherwise the thread will be closed as illegal copies are against the forum rules.

Thank you for your info.
The DVDs were privately made and recorded on a course with the lecturer's permission. They are perfectly legal.As I said,They will play on the computer but not on the DVD player.I am new to this sort of thing.I have copied stuff before with DVD Shrink but it is the first time I have tried this sort of conversion.
Thank you again.

The DVDs may have been burned on a media or with a method that is incompatible with your player. Since it's a home-made disk, you should be able to copy the entire contents to your hard drive and re-burn with ImgBurn to a standard DVD+R disk to try in your player. You don't need to copy it with any software, just use Windows Explorer.

My point was that there is no need to use any particular software to copy it to the hard drive first. I also mentioned only DVD+R because ImgBurn will be by default set to the proper bitsetting for the disk to burn and be compatible in the majority of stand-alone players.
