Hey Doomsters...,
just wondering if anyone knows the approx time a 50G BDRW takes to erase. Max speed at 1.5, likely 1x. After I burn a BD, I wanna know how long to erase it.
thnx,:)

Not sure about erasing, but to rewrite and correct errors as it writes, I've had 4-7 hours on a Verbatim - left it running overnight.

Took me around 3 hours to do a full erase or format (and reclaim 'extra space' - needed for max size BD50 discs). I disabled the verify option.
Sony 50GB BD-RE, LG BH08LS20 drive.

So it takes longer to format the media than to actually write it?
Should one erase/format the media before use? Or they come pre-formated (like the old floppies)?
