virtualdub x64 - win7 x64 rtm VFW error:(

Hi, i have xvid 1.22 installed, when i open an xvid encoded .avi with virtualdub 1.9.5 x64 in win7 x64 rtm i get the following error message:

Any idea how i can fix this?

did you install a 64bit Version of xvid, if not that's the problem,...

Do you have the 64 bit version of the codec? It's needed for x64 applications, they can't load 32 bit librarys.

If not, you can get it from squid_80 (http://forum.doom9.org/member.php?u=67865)'s website (http://members.optusnet.com.au/squid_80/). Look for "xvid64.zip"; download, extract, right click the .inf file and then "install".
If it still doesn't work then something went wrong with registering the dll. You have to do it 'manually':

Open cmd.exe, change to the directory that contains the xvid.inf file, type:
C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection xvid.inf,DefaultInstall
and hit enter. (I assume your Windows is located in c:\Windows, change it if necessary)

ahh, just looked into 64bit xvid and it seems it wont work with gordianknot as that is a 32bit application:( i'll use the 32bit version of virtualdub, thanks anyway.

Hunh, I had the same problem, but the other way round. I was trying to use 32-bit VDub with Xvid x64. Thanks!
