How is this number obtained/calculated?
Reason I ask, I was needing to determine the size of an unmodified dvd(just the video part), that I no longer have. What I do have is the rebuilder.log and the output files from dvd-rebuilder. The only way I could imagine this possible is if I could somehow find the connection between the reduction level number that is reported and the actual size of the video produced. Any thoughts appreciated, I know it's kinda weird.

Uhhhh....
Are you serious?
Find actual size, fine percentage reduction used (is it in the log? have a look!!!!!!!)...
With those 2 bits of info you can work it out yourself.

If you're trying to tell me I can use the reported percentage and the size of the output to find the original size... then you would be incorrect. It never works out.

SOURCE_VIDEO_SIZE=
I have a 'rebuilder.inf' in the working path, however there is no mention of the string above. I do have an 'Original_Size', although it probably doesn't matter since I have done other jobs already.

It would have been named after the job and would have been in the directory selected as "Working Path" in BD-RB. Something like "APOCALYPSE_NOW.INF"

I'm actually using DVD-RB, not the blue-ray version. Hope I'm in the correct forum. What exactly does the reduction level refer to? The video only(w/o audio)? Video w/ audio? The entire file structure? A perceived level of quality?

The entire file structure? A perceived level of quality? Video reduction required. The audio/subs in DVD-RB is always kept intact.
