GPU x.264 encoding under Linux/Debian/Ubuntu??

Hi... I'm pretty sure that this question is not new here, but I've searched for a while in this forum and found nothing that gave me an answer! :(
I need to know if there is any x.264 modification/addition, plug-In or something else that supports GPU support under Linux (Debian would be great!). If there is any support... what graphic card would be supported?
What about the speed improvement?

x264 doesn't go GPU-assisted stuff , it's that simple :/

You're better off spending a few dollars on a good CPU instead.
