Doom9 favicon ideas

As I wouldn't raise a five years old thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=79397), I'm opening this new one to submit some favicon ideas for Doom9 site and forum. ;)

1 - http://RNiK.fileave.com/D9_favicon_1.ico - This one has been made with this (http://antifavicon.com/); both background colors and text colors are the same used in Doom9 site homepage.

2 - http://rnik.fileave.com/D9_favicon_2.ico - This one has been made with Paint.NET; background color gradient is the same used in Doom9 top header.

3 - http://rnik.fileave.com/D9_favicon_3.ico - This one has been made with Paint.NET; background color gradient is generic blue.

5 - http://rnik.fileave.com/D9_favicon_7.ico - Transparent background, different font.

Sincerely, I don't like that much transparent background in favicons. :p

I think the favicon should match the site's logo, and doom9 doesn't really have one. Nor does it really need it.

the gradient background isn't that cool and looks really bad on the favorites toolbar (same goes for transparent), hard edges are needed IMO.

Sorry to update this 2 years old thread but since I didn't gathered enough attention on this topic, I finally made an userstyles (http://userstyles.org/styles/51097/doom9-forum-alternative-favicon) that works with Firefox + Stylish.:)
