I have a disc which is about 26 gb. However, there are 3 files of 1GB each at the end which have nothing in them except for deliberate padding (they are all the same in fact). Given the fact that the main movie contains four un-needed language tracks I know that the disc doesn't actually need re-encoding. I have replaced the padded files with small dummy ones but how do I persuade bd-rb that it just needs to throw stuff away and reajust the mpls and clip file?

I did try and do it manually with tsmuxer but I have been unable make the mpls and clip compatible - if I use the ones from tsmuxer the movie plays and the chapters and running length is okay but I lose access to the pop-up menu and thus to features such as scene, audio, and extras selection. If I use the old ones or a combination I either get the wrong running time / chapters which causes it to abort before the end of the movie. The problem seems to be in the clip file but nothing seems to allow you to adjust it.

Maybe a movie only copy would fit the bill?

Okay, I've got the answer to my own question but just to assist others, if you set the custom size in bd-rb larger than the source, it will only demux / remux the disc, removing the unwanted tracks.

Interesting idea, thanks for posting. What did you use for dummy files? Did they have to be the same length and / or codec?

You may have gotten an answer sooner if you simply stated the name of the movie instead of "I have a disc..." :)
