Hello

I hope that I am posting in the correct forum, and if it is in the wrong one please move it to the right one.

I'd like to record TV shows streaming to my computer, I've got a TV Tuner device PCI card titled LifeView.

I've connected the TV Tuner using RF cable (calssical antenna), and I can see the TV shows on my computer as fine.

Now I do not know how to record the TV Shows I am watching on my computer.

I've tried to use camtasia studio but it is recording audio only and no picture at all, and when I asked in thier support forum I've got a reply to disable the hardware acceleration, but it did not worked out for me, and finally they said that it is because I am trying to record a decoded video.

Also I've used Video Lan to view the device shows but the same thing happened again.

So now I do not know what to do and I am really in a greate need to record these TV shows.

Thanks

Yeap, another victim of the marketing.
Next time google to see what software support you can get before buying a product. There are 7 analog products listed on lifeview page, all of them called FlyTV.

Some of them should be able to encode in MPEG in real time as they do it in hardware. If you can't disable this behaviour, then you have to limit yourself to MPEG-1,-2 or-4 and live with it. I assume you can only use the bundled proprietary software.

Go google for software support for your card. All models are different in hardware, find your model and use it as a search keyword.
