Please people help me with this. I got some 1080 hd movies from the store, made some mkv backups with the wrong filesizes, I wanna make them fit onto dvd9s. With one I could demux the mkv and recompress the audio but the rest are around 13GBs. How can I recompress(or shrink) h264 files to get a smaller size? I probably will lose quality but I dont believe its that obvious, and I am sure it is possible to get a recompressed 1080video with greater quality if I have downloaded a 720 version. Even if it takes days to keep the quality as high as possible during the recompression. My question is: how the hell shall I do it, I tried this megui thing and the avisynth but I dont get the whole essence of it, or it just doesnt work for me. I tried to make an .avs file out of the h264 but avisynth seems to be bugged. If I get to the step where I only have to load the avs file into megui, it would be a piece of cake, there are presets for 'insane' quality compression, I wouldnt even need to touch the settings. HELP!
ps.Just to make it clear: I have a ~13Gb 1080 movie, I demuxed it, so theres a h264 video file and a dts audio, which can be as small as possible(usually I get a 400Mb ac3 file). This means I have to get a video file around 7.9Gb.
