There are two types of SWF files --- the ones which contain *actual* video wrapped in the SWF container, and the ones that contain single images controlled by animation scripts. The first type can be properly demuxed (with swftools or other applications) and then re-encoded. But the second type must be "screen-captured" before it can be re-encoded, AFAIK. :(

you can google a converter and use it to convert swf to avi. the setting is that choose output file as .avi format, the video type should display as: xvid, divx, mpeg. choose one you like, then convert swf to avi (http://www.convertswftoavi.com).

i faced this problem before.
BUT! Why you just dont export your flash animation in AVI format, through (File--> export movie of course)?
Here is some solutions:
1.
Import the SWF file in flash through Macromedia Flash or Adobe flash.
Export movie to AVI (after assigning the true FPS in movie properties)
2. If you want more professional solve do:
the 1st step from the previous solve
export to PNG image sequence
Import to avs through Imagesource() or ImageReader() so you can manipulate your video like you want.
sorry for my english if it is bad, i'm arabic
