PgcEdit No Preview in Trace

Hi,

Just in case someone already knows the answer, I thought I asked first. I searched the forum and couldn't find the answer.

The problem: (Tried in v8.x and v9.x)
In trace mode Preview does not display.
I have Preview automatic start checked.
Preview works find with the preview button or chapter in title edit.

This is a newly reinstalled OS with only hardware driver, no apps.
This is a multiboot system. The old OS is still on it, PGCEdit
works as expected in the old OS.

Hardware is exactly the same (same system) so it can't be a hardware issue.
There is no other application software on the newbuild so it's not apps.

OS W2k3 Server SP1 (no other update yet), DirectDraw v9.0c,
DirectDraw Acceleration, D3D, AGP texture are enabled in DirectDraw.

I traced the call during PGCEdit trace on the old system and saw
PCGEdit calling DDraw.ddl for rendering. I have not traced the
call on the new system - (time constraint). DDraw.dll can't be the
problem because it is working for other prereview mode.

Anyone with any thought or quick guidance to fixing the problem?

Are you sure the option to show the preview in trace mode is enabled? See the Trace menu -> Setup -> Preview Options -> Show Played Cells in Preview, or use the shortcut: the checkbox with a little Play arrow to the right of the Trace menu.)

You can also try to disable the DirectDraw overlays (Main menu -> Preview -> Disable DirectDraw Overlays) although if the preview works when it is launched from the main window, I doubt DirectDraw could be the cause of the problem.

I get on to post that I figured it out. It's exactly what you stated. It's just a matter of time....and enough clicking <lol>.
