I have a new Dell Computer with Vista 64. I downloaded Nero 7 Ultra. I tried to recode a file on my hard drive. Everything started just like it should, I imported the file (2.5 GB) then i clicked on burn, set speed to 8x. Clicked burn, it started like it is supposed to start and then about 7 or 8 minutes I get an error message "burning failed out of memory". I was using the nero on my old computer with XP and it worked great. I emailed tech support and they told me to raise my virtual memory, i did that and tried again same results. I have tried different media including Verbatim and different speeds and still get the same message. Also I did a clean sweep with Nero Removal Tool, and installed the newest Nero 7 that Nero tech support was compatible. Any help out there?

Post your log of the failed burn, or try ImgBurn.

Hi!I tried to recode a file on my hard drive
1) What's the title and Region number of your original DVD?

2) What software and procedures did you use to rip it (remove copy protection and then write) to your hard drive?

3) Does the hard drive version play properly?

What kind of rip gave you a 2.5 GB file? Maybe a disk image (NRG)? That means you have several copies of the same movie in different formats on your HDD? That mean you're running out of HDD space, maybe?

I used DVDFab 6 to rip and it was 3.5 GB to my hard drive. The original and the hard drive file plays perfect. My hard drive still has 550 GB and I have 6GB of RAM. I used the same procedure and software on my old XP computer and everything works perfect. I still think it is a setting within Nero 7 or a setting on my new Dell Vista 64 computer.

I hope I am posting this right if not tell how.

1) As previously requested by "CWR03", please post your NERO log of the failed burn

2) Again, what's the title and Region number of your original DVD? (Depending on the protection scheme used, the rip by DVDFab may be "less than perfect")

The movie i am backing up is The Code Region 1. It rips and burns on my old computer which has the same DVDFab6 and nero 7 ultra on it. And everything works fine it will play anywhere. I don't have the log because I removed it from my new computer and am using my old computer until I find a solution to my problem.

You find the answer apparently :)

Use your old workstation ;)

Now seriously,

if the settings on both anydvd and nero are the same (double check) then it follows that Vista 64 is incompatible with nero 7 and vice-versa. Downgrade! I do not own vista (probably never will) so I'm not sure how can I help you more.

PS: If you have access to doom9.org you must have access to google.com as well: ->http://www.google.com/search?q=nero+7+vista+64&hl=en&sa=2, you'll find the answer in the first 5 items here. ;)

Simplest solution: recode with DVD Shrink, and burn with ImgBurn. Ner0 has always been a source of numerous problems.
