Hi All

I seem to be having an issue using GKnot with the latest DivX codec 6.8/7.

Everything works perfectly until i do a compression test/actuall encode at which point a small file (a few kb) is created that contains no actuall video.

I can preview the video, set the resolution and everything with no issues.

At a guess it looks the video is no reaching the encoder and its processing blank data.

Any help suggestions apreciated

Thanks

I don't believe Gordian Knot will work with such recent versions of DivX, as it relies on VfW versions.

DivX 6.8.5 free which is both vfw and cli (also included in DivX 7 bundle, divx 7 is a cli h.264 encoder) works here for compressibility check and encoding. I had to set first pass default to multipass - first pass and nth pass default to multipass - nth pass.

GK doesn’t work properly with DivX 6 because the bitrate is not set automatically. It doesn’t work at all with DivX 7 AVC.

I can’t say for sure if your blank video problem is connected. But GK is hopelessly outdated nowadays. I’d advise against using it anymore. Try StaxRip or MeGUI instead.
