I have recently started ripping blurays to avchd, and these play successfully on my lg bluray home theatre, but when I have an mp4 copy of one of my bluray movies, I can't get my bluray player to recognize these files on a disc, even though this player is supposed to play mp4 files. I have tried to burn to disc with udf 2.50 and this doesn't work, even tried to burn just normally with drag and drop. Do these need to be patched or something??
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi!even though this player is supposed to play mp4 files. Are you sure the docs don't refer to "MPEG-4", rather than "MP4"?

MPEG-4 support could mean Divx/Xvid rather than h.264/avc in a mp4 container.
What model player do you have?

Thanks for your replies, the book says the BD-ROM format for movie distribution supports three video codecs, including MPEG-2, MPEG4 AVC(H.264), and SMPTE VC1.
The model is:
LG HB954SA.
After reading this, there is no mention of playing mp4 format, but plays divx. Maybe there is no support for mp4. Thanks for your help.
