I have two versions of the same movie. A 720p MKV version with DTS audio track and a 1080p WMV version with a WMA audio track. My NMT (networked media tank) doesn't play WMA audio and I want the movie in 1080p, so what to do?

I'm thinking of using de VC1 video in the WMV file and the DTS track from the MKV file and combine it. If possible, just by extracting the video without having to recompile it (it's already in the right format, VC1). But I am clueless on what to do. MKVmerge is useless, Virtuadub-mpeg 2 is too.

Anybody? (if all fails, a recode with Ripbot is my last option, but that's time consuming and loses quality)

How did you come across these files? It certainly doesn't sound like you ripped them from a disc yourself.

There is a Dutch saying that roughly translates to 'Asking about the known road'. Pretty self-explanatory wouldn't you say?
Obviously I did not make them myself. I could, but why bother if other people are so much better at it. It's easier to just combine the best of two files if I have the two files that I want to have combined.
As far as a copyright issues that you may be referring to, there aren't any. Besides me owning this specific title myself, Dutch law (I'm Dutch living in Holland so that applies to me) allows me to work on material, audio or video, that I do not own, as long as it is for private use. So on all sides the law is on my side as even the DMCA doesn't come into it for you guys helping me out as there is no protection being circumvented.
So can we get back to the topic?

Thanks fellas, I'll give them a try. Being the lazy bum that I am I'll try the CLI tool last ;)
What about Gabest's MatroskaMuxer? What program do I use that with as it seems a filter file only...

Obviously I did not make them myself. Struck and closed for rule 6 violation.
