I want to use a plugin in ffdshow (deband), so in virtualdub I went to compressio, chose ffdshow video codec. I configured ffdshow video codec, I used H.264 lossless, then I went to input, enabled image processing. I pressed the configure button beside it, checked the deband box, set deband to 2. Then I saved everything and start encoding. The encode didn't have any processing. Deband didn't work. I confirmed it by setting deband to 20, the highest.

I have ffdshow r30xx, virtualdub 1.88, running on Windows Vista. I tried this on Windows XP, and it is the same thing.

If the input is not decoded by ffdshow, then the filters (located on the Decoder tab for a reason!) won't apply, even if you select ffdshow as your compressor ;)

What you must do: Go to the Video -> Filters dialog, click the "Add" button and choose "ffvdub" from the list. Then configure the filters as desired.

BTW: Whatever you configure in the "Video decoder configuration" dialog of ffdshow doesn't apply to VirtualDub. It's the "VFW configuration" dialog which does apply here!
