merging fraps files ?

fraps splits recorded files at 4gb.
what is the easiest/good way to merge these fraps files together to be able to view the footage as a continuous video ?

and i mean before shrinking them or whatever...
say i record about 5 minutes of hd footage and i end up with 5x4gb files. i then want to merge them together to create a 20gb file, and after this is done start shrinking it et al.

up until recently i only ever recorded reasonably short clips. usually less then 30 seconds, so they never exceeded 4gb. but i'm going to start recording longer clips and want/need to know.

try virtualdub in direct stream copy mode to append

Or use avisynth. Then there is no need to "physically" append anything before shrinking them or whatever...
