I have a really strange problem. I have been ripping for the last 4 years, with DVD shrink, DVDFab etc. I have ripped Bedtime stories with DVDfadHD then shrink and re-authored the movie. Now it plays back on my computer with no problems, my NEC dvd player but will not playback on my main Pioneer DVD player, I get un-readable or incompatible disc. Now I have been playing my DVDs on this recorder for years, and now suddenly this problem. I have changed my media.

The Pioneers usually have good readers inside, maybe it's the media. I'm however suprised to hear that NECs are better in reading than Pioneers.

Hi!I have been playing my DVDs on this recorder for yearsPerhaps it's time to run a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your Pioneer.
Maxell makes one that sells for about $10US...

Thanks forthe replies. I have run a cleaner, changen media and I still get the same problem. Wont run on my Pioneer player. The movies play on every other DVD. Was wondering if I may have inadvertinely changed some setting on shrinh or DVDFab. Any ideas???

Use DVD Shrink at the latest stage, just to make sure the project will fit your DVD, and not before. DVD Shrink will tell you if the DVD has authoring problems. It's not infailible but it can spot most "mastering" errors.

@jooster
Have you tried NOW playing previously known good burned DVDs on your Pioneer?
If your Pioneer can no longer play them, it's likely "on the verge of death"...
