Hi Guys,

I have some problems with M4A-Files.

I wrote a small App to convert my FLAC-Files to M4A (AAC).

Now I finaly want to add TAGS. TAGS are doing good, but I have hugh problems with Covers.

I use Neros "neroAacTag" to add Tags and Covers.

Covers are added, but they are not shown. Nero itselfs recognizes the Covers, but no other program else.

MediaInfo does also not show "AlbumArt", so I think that Nero does not add Covers correctly.

I didnt found informations about m4a-Headers or something else. I need a CLI-Programm to add Cover or some header informations to import jpeg-files by mineself.

Does someone have some informations ?

Try using MP3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/)... Despite its name it can re-tag .M4A files and link album art via its "Extended Tags..." option.

There are two ways to write cover art: Nero way and Apple way.
Nero cover art also has information if it is front, back or booklet. Apple doesn't distinguish these.
We'll publish this year new version of neroAacTag which will be able to write cover art in both formats, also allowing to write cover art only in Apple format.

@SeeMoreDigital:

Thanks for that tip, it works wonderful. Its really easy to use, so its no problem to get it not "out of the box" with my programmed """tool""".

@skromnibog:

Nice to hear, I love Neros AAC-Codec and it would be nice to get a propper tagged m4a-File with a CLI-tool (included covers).

neroAacTag already does proper tagging :) It is just not recognized by some software. That's why we are adding possibility to choose what type of tags to write.
