is this possible and is it in the works anyone know. imagine how fast a encode job would run with a gtx 260

imagine HOW CRAPPY it will be...
GPU accelerated encoders are light years away (speaking of quality) from software encoders.
also since CCE is a commercial product, why dont you ask them instead?

Then you thought completely wrong! There is now "raw" processing power. We must find smart ways to exploit the theoretical processing power of CUDA-enabled GPU's.

In fact it is pretty hard to write code that actually runs "fast" on CUDA. Your task must be extremely parallel to be suitable for CUDA. And we talk about thousands of threads here!

Just throwing some CPU code on CUDA does not work. Forget about that idea! And don't believe in marketing blabber ;)

If CUDA really was suitable for video encoding, then we would have seen a good and fast CUDA encoder by now. But all the existing CUDA encoders produce crap quality...
