CAE = Clever anamorphic encoding.

Hi all, I am fresh to use ananmorphic encoding.
Usually, I encoded the source without any resizing, and then set correct DAR while muxing by using of mkvmerge.

I've noticed that there's a CAE option, and I've searched all over this forum, but I'm still confused with when to use CAE or not, and what's result with CAE on.

Could someone kindly explain a CAE guide for me?

thx in advance.

You tick the CAE checkbox and then crop and resize (if you want mod16). If you do that and load the avisynth script megui will pass the correct aspect ratio to the encoder. You won't have to set it when you mux, because mkvmergegui will read it from the encoded stream.
