Megui 0.3.1.1043 - Bitrate Calculator Problems

This is a new error I encountered. I was trying to encode a vob/ ifo file to mkv with x264 video, ac3 audio.


1] I created a d2v file for the vob and demuxed the Ac3 audio
2] Created an Avisynth script [.avs] file from this d2v file
3] Chose 'x264 DXVA HD - Balanced' setting & Mkv container for video
4] Chose 'Ac3 *Scratchpad*' setting for audio
5] Tried opening the Bitrate calculator and Megui gave me this error

6] So I changed audio to a different setting [not Ac3] and Bitrate calculator opened
7] Hypothesis is Bitrate calculator does not work when using Ac3 audio

So how do I solve this problem?

I can reproduce but what is your reason for encoding ac3 to ac3 using "Aften AC-3: *Scratchpad*"? If you just want to use the bitrate calculator just load the avs file and then select the ac-3 track in the bitrate calculator.

Its cos Megui doesn't give me an option where I can use un-encoded audio, if I want ac3 audio I must encode it.

It's because you input audio file is ac3 and you have selected a audio profile to encode to ac3. The input and output filenames are the same. If you change the output filename the bitrate calculator will work.

I mean there is no 'do not encode audio' option in the encoder settings, as such when I used the audio I have to encode it in order for it to be part of the mkv

That is incorrect. If you don't want to encode the audio just don't include it in the Audio section. To use the Bitrate Calculator just load you avs file in the video section and then select Bitrate Calculator. In this window you can select the audio file.

1] I changed directory for save, so I can keep same name

2] Removed audio so can use bitrate calc, used audio in calc to get encode info

3] I auto-encoded and chose add additional... and then added audio + subs there, so encode not needed

4] wait for encode
