Subtitles ON by default during playback

Hi all, first post newbie so please go easy.

I'm using DVD-RB Pro 1.28.2 and encode in Movie Only mode.

My problem is that when played back on my DVD player the subtitles are on by default and I have to press the subtitle button to turn them off. Is there a way to stop this and have subtiltes off by default?

I have all subtitles (except English) disabled in setup because if I disable all subtitles then some of the forced subtitles like language translations are removed.

I get the feeling that I'm missing something simple. I checked the FAQ and did a search but couldn't find an answer.
