Hello all

If u all/some are not aware there is a new format called "R3D format" for storing High resolution raw video format with audio

The uncompressed video present in the R3D format is called as "Redcode",getting developed in assosciation with both "Red" and "Adobe" companies.

(virtual dub has a decompressor called 'R3D SDK 1.3',after using R3D plugin for virtualdub)

The video resolution is 4096x2048

The problem is the virtual dub exports this video(in avi container),BUT in a downsampled video resolution,which means,
that source video is 4096x2048,but the exported video from virtuadub is 2048x1024,which is NOT appreciable.

My Intention Basically is,I am interested in extracting(or converting) " the 'Redcode' High resolution video in the 'R3D file-format' " into a 'YUV seqeunce' of same resolution of 4096x2048.

Adobe has tools like "Creative studio 4.0" or "adobe after effects",But they are costly and one has to BUY them to use it,
in addition,i dont know wether these adobe tools will export this "Redcode" video into a Sequence YUV ,which is what is my ultimate intention as i mentioned above.

Can anyone please suggest in how i can go about it ( without these adobe tools(i.e.obviously,ONLY,if adobe tools can export "redcode" video into yuv,which i really Doubt) )

thanks,
Sabeel.

You should post this at the VirtualDub support forum.

@neuron

I did do that as u mentioned,but closed as mentioned above.

The reason why i have posted it here is because it also deals with "RedCode" video transconverting into YUV,Plus "redcode" is a new codec.

can u atleast reopen the post which is closed in the virtualdub topic thread

Are you using this plugin?

http://arenafilm.hu/alsog/vdr3d/

And do you have Render Size set to Full Resolution?

Also, try contacting the author of the plugin at:

@neuron2

Thanks Neuron,for the link it is helpful

Can anyone please tell me how i can export a uncompressed RGB into a YUV sequence,maybe by using virtualdub in a avi container and then strip the avi headers to give me just the YUV sequence?
