I'm looking to covert my HD-DVD's to a file format that can be played with directshow filters, but I'm struggling to find what Container, conversion process and playback filters I need to get:
1) Video Stream: original un-transcoded
2) Audio Stream: converted to (L)PCM
3) Subs: Forced Subs
4) Chapters: Bonus if I could keep them

I've had no problems with converting HD-DVD's to Blu-ray with all the features I need (using the ClownBD front end) but it just does not work with TS / M2TS files (I'm note sure they even support Subs / Chapers).

Thanks
Nathan

if your source container is ts/m2ts use eac3to to demux+convert audio to PCM (wav64 is still buggy me thinx) then you have to run the eac3to-PCM track through pcm2tsmu and then remux everything back together to Blu-ray with tsmuxer, there you can insert chapter timings and subs
itīs essentially the same process thatīs automated with clownBD except for the PCM conversion step i think (never used clownBD cause if i remux i only do it when the disc needs further work and so i have to do it manually) if you want that i think you have to do it manually as just described
subs can be forced afterwards with a tool called bdedit, you will find everything you need on this site ;)

Chapters are stored in the MPLS playlist file, separate from the M2TS.

How about mkv but instead of LPCM use multi channel flac. You'll save yourself allllllot of space.
