direcshot filter/driver HDMI output

Hi

We're looking for a component (direct show filter or anything) that we could use in order to direct output from our application to the HDMI output port of the machine. Many laptops now has this output but it can only output the whole screeen. we only need to direct our video stream there

anything you know of? where do we start?

The HDMI port is controlled by the GPU and the display driver. If the hardware only supports cloned display (the internal and the external displays get the same image), there's no way to draw anything to the external output that doesn't also get drawn to the internal display. If the GPU does support multiple separate displays, you can set the display driver and the windowing system to handle them separately. Then it's just a matter of drawing to a fullscreen window in the target screen.
