Tried EdgeMask from MaskTools?

tcanny.zip (http://bengal.missouri.edu/~kes25c/tcanny.zip). I ported this to avisynth from a class project a few months ago for some experiments. Slapped in a readme, gpl, and here you go. It is not optimized for speed.
