Tricky Interlace on X-Men Animated Series DVDs

Hello folks, I have thrown quite a few different deinterlacer and IVTC methods at this source, but I am not coming up with anything that even looks decent/gets rid of the interlace and/or blended frames. I've also tried everything from MeGUI's script creator and have not gotten very good results from it. Would someone be so kind as to take a look at a demuxed sample below and post some good IVTC settings? If you need a longer sample or anything else, just let me know. Thanks guys!!

You have some blended frames that seem to have existed before the frames were converted to interlaced fields, and on top of that not all frames have motion in them, making some appear not inerlaced. Yadif(order=1) does a pretty good job on the actual interlacing, but you should check out AnimeIVTC or one of the Restore functions to try to get the original frames back.

Just tried those. There is still residual "ghosting" throughout, even after manually bobbing and restoring, using srestore, and animeivtc. Those may not be completely fixable. For more help, you could ask MoMonster in his thread about this clip and what to do with it, I'm sure he'd like the challenge.

You may want to know that I had good results -for restoring, not for blends- with a script (tuned a little) described here:

For even better results (and longer time) you may want to try Mdegrain2() or 3 from MVtools2 instead of fft3dfilter/gpu or one of the complex scripts from the beginning of the same thread.

It's double blended with both fields of a frame frequently being blended. There is no way to remove all of the blending. It's a real mess.

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid the source was too bad to be fixed, but was hoping it could be. I've tinkered with AnimeIVTC, but it isn't a viable option for me right now because after I apply it + the other filters I wanted to use to clean up the video I am only getting about 0.16 FPS. I can deal with 2-3 FPS, but not 0.16 lol. Restore does somewhat of an ok job, but it's still not coming out that great. No matter what I try whenever I IVTC it, the panning scenes and whatnot are jerky/choppy... so I might consider just leaving it at 29.97 FPS with blended frames if nothing else (at least it'll play somewhat smoothly I guess lol).

lol thanks for the tip but that's the set I posted the sample from. :P Disney did a piss poor job releasing this series on DVD... which is a shame since it is one of my favorite toons.
