Removing hard interlace

I am trying to encode Rurouni Kenshin R2J, but i'm having big problems removing the interlace of the opening. On the episode i don't any problems removing properly the interlace, but on the opening, well it as been a dificult mission kill all the interlace without blends.

I've tried telecide, tfm(order=1).tdecimate(hybrid=3) and a combination of telecide and yadifmod, but none of this give me the result that i want. Another problem unsolved by me on this dvd's is the dot crawl. I've tried Checkmate and Tcomb but using them or not using them is the same result.

Thank's man, im feeling desperate at the moment. Don't know what filter to test to kill this interlace.

This is a very simple case of hard telecine of 3:2 pulldown. All you need to do is inverse telecine process, i would recommend AnimeIVTC as the source is an anime :D however, u could doa simple inverse telecine process using Telecide i believe, that should give u decent results.

Well it still leaves some combing behind, but it's the best solution so far and possibly it doesn't get better than this. :)

Try using:

AnimeIVTC(mode=1, aa=1, precision=3, edimode="nnedi")

To remove more combing, set killcomb=2. It's on 1 by default, and 2 removes more combing.

man, why are anime always so badly interlaced??

They aren't. It's the sources. I've never had any interlacing problems with R2J sources. R1 is the next best with PAL being the worst. Depends on the company that makes them as well.
