WMP12 that comes with Windows 7 is missing some things that WMP11 had such as:
- attached now playing
- advanced tag editor
- taskbar toolbar
If you are interested in getting those functions back and still want to use Windows 7 you can grab windows 7 wmp switcher (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tbgziwtnkem)
Key features are:
- works for x86 and x64 Windows 7
- switch between WMP11 and original WMP12 in a couple seconds
- enables mkv/mka playback and keeps m2ts/mp4/mpa playback
Known issues of WMP11 on Windows 7:
- taskbar toolbar in x86 is very limited
- taskbar toolbar in x64 doesn't work
