reencode only part of mkv file

Hello everyone, sorry for my english...

I have some movies in mkv container that can't fit to dvd disc after converting it to AVCHD (PS3 compatible), there is 20-40MB overhead.
So I would like to reencode only entitles (credits) of movie to smaller bitrate.
There is some simple solution to do that?
Cutting credits is not good idea for me :)
I searched this forum, google and nothing...
There is someting about "zones" but I don't know that is the solution.

You said to cut movie to 3 parts, why?
part 1 - movie (untouched)
part 2 - endtitles (reencoded)
part 3 ?
