Need help in normalizing colour of black and white movie

Hi Guyz,

I Got Some Old Movie of 1966 and onwards but the movie is so dark and gray..if i put colour tweak it reduces gray but faces remain so much white that one could no see who they are...Kinly tell me how to normalize the colour of the black and white movie...I am Posting Screenshots of the movie so You all can Judge and help me...

SmoothLevels should do the job...

EDIT: SmoothLevels(8,1.0,128,16,235,chroma=0,limiter=2,Lmode=1,Ecenter=64) [Adjust gamma (1.0 -> 0.5 ~ 1.5) as you like]
