PGCEdit: editing post commands?

Hi, I have a simple VMG menu that has 2 buttons that links directly to "main movie" (352x576) and "extras" (720x576). However at the end of each VTS playback, the DVD ends. I want to edit the post commands for each, so at the end of playback it goes straight back to the menu. How can I do this please?

One other (hopefully simple) question: I have an inaccurate chapter point that I want to delete (not the video segment, but just the marker!). Surely this is a simple thing to do?

I have played around but I feel I am in over my head with this thing. I think I need a month or so to wrap my head around it, but unfortunately a deadline is pressing.

That is easy to do. In post commands of that VTS add this command (or replace Exit command if already exist):
[30 08 00 00 01 42 00 00] (CallSS) Call the VMGM Title menu, resume cell 1

Double-click on the Title PGC. In the PGC Editor's cells table, click on the "Prog." button of the chapter you want to remove. Its number should disappear, and the "Edit Chapter (PTT) Table" button should turn red. Click that button, and then "Delete Last Chapter". (You have to delete the LAST chapter, as since you have removed a program, the subsequent chapter points have been shifted, and the last chapter is now associated with non-existing cell and program.)

Back again... I have another problem related to this PITA project of mine. :mad:

First of all, I fixed all my previous problems accordingly to ManOfHonor and r0lZ's advice (THANKS!) and it plays fine in my DVD standalone.

HOWEVER... I have discovered that my menu is NOT a VMG menu at all, but a VTS menu (I used DVDAuthorGUI to author this). And because one title is "352x576" and the other is "720x576", that would mean that my DVD, even though it plays OK, is technically "out of spec"? Am I correct?

So here's my question:

Is there any way of converting my simple VTS menu (non-motion, audio, 2 buttons) into a VMG menu and bring my DVD into true "spec"?? I don't really want to reauthor because I have deleted my assets.

Your DVD is not out of spec if the two titles are in different VTSs. It is perfectly legal to mix titles and menus in full and half resolutions, as long as the same resolution is used for all items in the same domain. You can have a full-res menu in, say, VTSM1 and an half-res Title in the VTST1, as they are different domains although it's the same VTS, but you cannot have two titles with different resolutions in VTST1.

Anyway, moving your menu from the VTST domain to the VMGM will not change its resolution. If you really want to do it, you can select the FP-PGC, then use "File -> Import Menu", and select the IFO of the VTS containing your menu (I suppose it's VTS_01_0.IFO). Finally, you can remove your original VTSM menu. But you will have to recreate all VM commands in the whole DVD and in the menu buttons to use the new VMGM menu instead of the old VTSM menu. That's not a job for a beginner!

THANK YOU, ROLZ!! Yes, you are right, and I am very happy with my end result, it plays beautifully on different players. Each title loops back to main menu = cool! And I removed that errant chapter marker like how you instructed = perfect.

You're software is truly remarkable, I am definitely going to try to wrap my head around it properly, it's a beautiful educational toy!

DVD an obsolete format? CRAP it is. DVD is here to stay a loooong time, pal!
