View Full Version : No way to directly encode DTS?

Same as an AC3 file can be directly encoded to another 5.1ch format such as AAC, DTS can't be? Everything I've tried doesn't work. Either nothing happens, the encode fails, or the program just makes this hissing noise when it tries to decode the dts audio files. If the only way involves ripping each channel into separate mono audio files, encoding each of those separately, and then muxing them together, then nevermind... It's not worth it. Thanks.

What program(s) are you using? foobar2000 with foo_dts or foo_input_dts, eac3to, MeGUI, BeHappy, and Avidemux with the necessary plugin can all do DTS->AAC.

I think Ditto666 want encode to DTS, not decode.
1) Not exist a free DTS encoder then you need a commercial encoder like Surcode or ProEncoder. And yes, you need 6 mono inputs to use these encoders. Only eac3to can output .agm multichannel files to use in ProEncoder.
2) I don't know for what you need DTS files, use the more efficient and compatible AC3 or the much more efficient AAC.

What dll plugin do I need for BeLight in order to encode DTS->AAC? The AAC plugins don't really seem to work to well either. Eac3to is too confusing for me to use... Maybe it would work but it gives me a headache...

Don't bother with Belight and Besweet. Just use Behappy or MeGUI with NicAudio.

Alright. I'll try it out. Thanks.

Anyone knows how to use Surcode DVD DTS Encoder in command line mode instead of using the GUI? Thanks.
eac3to does it this way. I would love to have an example of the script to use. Many thanks.
