Hi all,
does someone know the software magix movie edit pro?
Some German friends came over last month two of them are very enthusiastic editors and they almost conjured me to use movie edit pro as well but you know..everybody is just talking about adobe and virtualdub etc. and I'm now a bit confused, because I'm a real rookie (concerning editing^^) but the demoversion looked kind of easy to me AND they made good looking movies with it too (but I guess they some kind of professionals/freaks ) ...so I don't know.
Do you know the software, can you recommend it?
//come on, I really need some help :-/
//2 So..I just ordered Magix Movie Edit Pro..I hope it is a good choice, we'll see
Does anyone know where to find some tutorials or anything similar?
///3 hm I feel as if I'm a soliloquiser..nevermind, I found http://www.magix.info/uk/ - there are dozens of tutorials but I suppose I got to learn some German vocab for these...anyone here who knows a site with English tutorials?
btw. IS there ANYONE here at all?^^
Can anyone help me please? =)

I have this software and its very good. I bought it about 5 years ago off Amazon UK for about £16 for use with my camcorder. Surely you can download a manual from the companies site

This software out does them all, however there are many nasty bugs, join the Magix forum and look for "Alwyn's" post. You can also see The Master Posts, that's me until I was banned for pointing out the bugs. Still there are work arounds for most of the bugs. Both "Videofred & I " use this in film conversion. Best versions are
Mep 10 Plus UK
Mep 11 Plus UK
mep 14 Plus US
Do not buy the E-version

Hi!Why have you ordered it twice?
whoops In the first one I meant that I got the demoversion from their website

I didn't found any nasty bugs in the Demoversion (which should be adequate to the fullversion) so far - what do you mean?

If you are working with DV or HD files, there not too many, but with avi files there are many. The work around for this is to frameserve all your videos from Vdub plus import the wav file stripped with Vdub.
Magix is the only NLE that can accept 100 + Vdub frameservers at one time, so the bug resulted in a work around that has great benefit for sure. Also you can use most Vdub "plugins" down to a single frame correction inside Magix. Make sure you buy the plus version, not the standard or E-version, because Magix strips those versions of alot of features like My mistakeimport frame serving, plugins, and other bundled programs. Also you can not get upgrades for the E-Version. If you can't find the plus version in the US, go to Ebay UK and buy it, same price or less, and fast shipping. I been using this product for eight years.
EDIT: Sorry the other versions do have input frameserving but are missing the super neat animated DVD Menus and the better "keyFrame animator effects generator".

ouch, I ordered the classic version (Movie Edit Pro 15), I think I'll send an email to amazon, telling them I want the plus version, or wait - do I need "the super neat animated DVD Menus and the better "keyFrame animator effects generator"

Yes you want to change your order to Plus version. The 15 plus is excellent but its not me, they changed most of the key & mouse strokes so I am not about learn it over after 9 years, stupid move on their part. The Video Pro x, their top of the line NLE is not worth the extra cost $199.00. You can do more using the Vdub plugins with 15 plus. The animator in the plus version is much easier to use than the classic version. When you get the Plus version, you can compare the menus to the classic version and your question will be answered.

Got my Movie Edit Pro last week.
Easy to install and when I started it I was really surprised!
The handling is absolutely easy integrating effecs (oh and it has lots of effects) is super easy^^
I still got some problems with the keyframeanimator^^ but I think that is only a question of time..
In brief: Awesome program, highly recommended! Super price, super shipping (thanks againg to amazon) perfect for beginners!
Could you tell me where to get these plugins? And do I have to pay for them?

Last time I tried magix, it appears that it truncates the framerate to 2 decimal places, so you end up having to use weird framerates like 23.98. Can anyone tell me if this has been resolved in recent versions?
