View Full Version : Would like to compensate for severe audio delay when using A2DP in iPhone OS 3.0

One of the first dedicated audio/video players with A2DP, THE first in the US, didn't have this issue:

Shame. I'm sure Apple never intended to support A2DP because of the fact that dedicated hardware dongles go fast, implying that Apple's is converted in software versus the dedicated hardware dongles. This is even more obvious when you notice the impact on WiFi signal strength when they are used together (sharing the same antenna?)... YouTube is unusable and Pandora Radio skips like crazy when using A2DP + WiFi together. Sure, it's not usually a problem for music, but it's just beyond what I consider "tolerable" for video, so I have to compensate somehow.

OK, first, I need to find out just how much of a delay there is. Is there any short video file with video and audio cues for just such a purpose? I'll need to experiment with different audio delays during encoding. I run just about everything I need converted through Vedeora converter or VLC Portable. If there's a good way to extract, chop the beginning, pad the end, and insert the audio from a finished video, I would appreciate someone sending me in the right direction.

Thanks!
