play h.264 on HD DVD Player

Hi,
I've been using h.264 for quite some time and I'm very happy with it. Today, I read on wikipedia that HD DVD supports the h.264 codec. Since I've a dvd player that supports HD DVD I was wondering if those h.264 vids can be played on it (without re-encoding). I know HD DVD is not so relevant anymore, but I'd still like take the opportunity... Thanks!

which exact player u have
what container vids you got, i really doubt its raw h264
how you made them

Take a look at this thread at AVSForum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1076535) which IIRC says you have to start with a MeGUI-profiled/encoded .264 file. It seems to me that other 264s could work, but the main thing is that pulldown has to be added to get your files to 29.97fps.

So "of course" h.264 vids can be played on an HD-DVD player but as for "without re-encoding" well, that depends! Give it a try...
