Once i needed the x264 codec for encoding i searched a lot and found it and installed it..next i notice its in the list in vdubmod. However i needed to reinstall windows because of conficker problems so it was all gone.
Where can i find the exact one that will show up in virtual dub?

there are a number of reasons why you should never ever use x264 VFW.
however if, AND ONLY IF, you already know about the problems you may and will encounter using it AND you dont care, get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/
however, since you spoke about virtualdub, maybe you dont know there is a very similar video editor that does not rely on VFW. it's Avidemux (http://www.avidemux.org/) and it has a particular emphasis on x264. here you can find the latest x264 builds for avidemux: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=108784&page=58

it's not "errors"... it's problems (loosing frames at the beginning and/or at the end, audio/video synch problems, etc...).

I think i've encountered such problems but more like in the middle...

MeGUI is hard and everything else people say isnt

MeGUI is hardThen why not use a simpler GUI like Ripbot264 rather than using a broken hack of x264?

Encoding is hard, let's go shopping.

Also, your trolling is really obvious.

if the user is already familiar with vdub then avidemux is going to be rather friendly.
