View Full Version : How to tell the difference between audio signals?

Hi,
currently I'm trying to "make" a pc remote.

Some explanation:
I have an old amplifier + cassette player + tuner,
all of them are external stations,
which are connected by two chinch cables (audio channels) and one chinch cable for communication.

Now instead of conecting the com cable to the cassette player,
I have connected it to my soundcards' line in.
Now everytime I press a button on the remote, I can hear a signal (just as expected).
Now I already have a working program which lets me read frequency & amplitude from the audio frames.

The thing is I have no clue how to tell those signals apart.
I've cut together a sound sample (attachment) which contains button pushes from 1 to 9 and then 0.
I pressed each button 5 times, i.e. :
(1 1 1 1 1, 2 2 2 2 2, 3 3 3 3 3, ..., 9 9 9 9 9, 0 0 0 0 0)

Do you know a way to tell them apart?

Ah the attachment doesn't work (yet?):
