I have a DVD here that came witha Japanese audio CD. It has no menus and it just plays VTS1. In the "post" section of VTS1 is a single command which is "Exit".

When I perform a trace using PGCEdit, dvd playback seems to stop. But when I tried with the latest version of mpc-homecinema, it seems to just keeps on playing.

Any ideas?

MPC is wrong. Exit stops the DVD.

At least it should. It's one of the commands that is rarely well implemented, especially by the software players.

is there a suitable replacement for "exit" that software DVD players can recognize? thanks again :)

Click their stop button.

Click their stop button.:goodpost: :D

IMO, the best thing to do is to jump to a clip with a still image and an infinite still time.

You can also try to insert a cell command with the Exit. It could work when used that way.
