As you can see there are horizzontal line that i'd like to remove (besides the interlacing artifacts).

Can you help me? How this nois is called?

Thank you very much :)

DeFreq (http://www.avisynth.org.ru/defreq/defreq.html) might be able to help. Not sure what to call that kind of noise exactly, but it is interference from a somewhat fixed frequency. On closer inspection it doesn't seem very fixed at all though, so I can't get DeFreq to do anything useful :(

Was this recorded using a vidicon tube camera? (the things that were around before CCDs :) ) Vibrations from a noisy environment would cause such noise with these - if you watch any live music from the '70s or '80s recorded with a tube camera (e.g. Live Aid) you'll see the same kind of noise. That would explain why the frequency is varied. But I don't know how to get rid of it...

Many thanks for your time.

I've tried defreq too with no succes at all :(
This video was made around '80, so you might be right about the source of the noise.

Many thanks again

Ok, I've eliminated the weird frequency noise, actually it was the VCR producing it, but yet I never dealed with a so "noisy" footage, so I'am asking help again.

The video look very ugly, I see luminance and chroma noice of any kind, but I can barely name them and so use the appropriate filter, ( evevn with the appropriate filter I doubt I could do anything usefull ....) here is an example

Many thanks in advantage:)
