Whats the best choice for PQ along with minimal number of discs.
ie. putting BD content on to DVD5 or 9 using avchd format.
It seems to me there are 2 threads here:
1. Backing up a true BD disc
I will disregard this one here as below is more of what I am interested in.
2. Burning a downloaded movie in .mkv format to disc(avchd format).
Things to consider are:
-These are usually already in movie only format
-720p vs 1080p.
-Conversion of movie into a compatible AR format as in 1920x1080 etc.
-Bitrate
I've seen a lot of 720s already sized around 4.7Gb but some are in the 7-8Gb range. And 1080s from 6Gb-13Gb(These I have either resized for 1 DVD9 or split them between 2 DVD9s with simple menu.
I find it hard to believe that a BD25/50 will have as good a PQ on a single DVD5!?
Can a mkv of 4.7Gb be improved upon in PQ by going to a DVD9 by increasing bitrate or converting AR to say 1920x1080?
Are there any other considerations being missed here?
