Hi people,

got a problem with the new RC of Win7 and hope you guys can help.
I wanna encode a VC1 encoded Bluray to x264.

With Vista i just created this graph: FileSource(Async:Source.m2ts)->Haali Media Splitter (AR) -> WMVideo Decoder DMO.

This worked always very good. But under Win7 i ran into problems, when i want to create this same graph, cause it tells me: "this graph doesn't play". I can build it, but it won't work.

I tested to connect the Cyberlink o Arcsoft filter, but they tell me they cant connect.

Any ideas with encoding Vc1 to x264 under Win7?

Thanks in Advance

Bye

Sixi

Don't you need VC1Tweaker to get either VC-1 decoder to connect to Haali?

Never heard of or used this tweaker. I'd always used the graph above to reencode vc1 blu's to x264. Worked always fine.

Edit: But i can test this, maybe it helps. Where do i get this tweaker?

Use the search form, I know links have posted on different threads here a bunch of times.

Edit: This only applies to Arcsoft and Cyberlink. The built-in Windows DMO decoder is a new issue, AFAIK.

Right now i cant get this this to work outside of Powerdvd or Arcsoft TMT. None of the filters are working. Tested with or without VC1Tweak. Guess right now i have to wait with my vc1 encodes until a solution is found :) Or switch back to vista which i won't do just for encoding vc1 to x264 :)

This didnt work either. I Could connect the graph to WMVideo Decoder DMO, but it wont play. only shows black screen, and after some time avisynth tells me, that the graph timed out.

I Gues i have to wait till i can afford an new GTX 285 and the use neuron NV tools :)

Thanks

Instead of WMVideo Decoder DMO you should use ffdshow decoder! Make sure that under VC-1 you have wmv9

I See :thanks:

Tested ang got it working. In Avisynth the Graph will render nicely, so i can encode to x264.

Thank you.

EDIT: What about 1080i Vc1 coded material? The Output is totally destroyed an completely pixelated. Thanks.

It seams that WMVideo Decoder DMO has some bugs.

Use eac3to to strip the interlaced VC-1 stream to a mkv file and then run as normal.

This is the only way I can get interlaced VC-1 content to play correctly in Vista.
