What is actually Mpeg.2ts files consist of??

Thanks but what the heck are they used in, camcorder of what type? first time that ran across this was the other day, is it a coded????:)

One main use is on Blu-Ray disks.

Another use is in digital television transmission schemes (DVB, ATSC, ISDB, etc). So such a file might originate from a digital TV capture.

For some reason or another my HD camcorder Canon Hv30 uses that Mpeg?:confused:
