I can't get the version of DVBViewer that comes with the Skystar 2 HD to work with HD channels either - none out of the Elecard, Coreavc or ffdshow decoders worked.

I had some success with the latest trial versions of both ProgDVB Pro and Coreavc Pro, these displayed the HD channels, and didn't appear to crash anything.

Try uninstalling all codecs except for Coreavc and see if you have any joy.

It seems I have been using the "Microsoft MPEG2 decoder" - which I think comes standard with Vista - had no problems with it.
