View Full Version : Need help in PgcEdit - 2 problems

I have a R0 DVD9 of a Punjabi movie that I'm re-encoding via CCE.

Now...two problems exist on the DVD9.

Main moive (2hrs45min) is split across 2 VTS Series.
Part 1 of the movie starts in VTS_03_1.VOB (to 4), and then 2nd half of the film is in VTS_01_1.VOB (to 4)....

First problem:

In the MAIN MENU (VTS series #2) there is a SONG sub-menu (which is SURPRISINGLY in VTS series #1)...which lists about 6 songs, which you can either select individually, or the PLAY ALL button....the problem is that IF you select PLAY ALL button, after it finishes showing you all the music video songs, it starts all over again, and doesn't return back to the SONG menu (which SHOULD be the case) or even the MAIN menu....so I'd like some help into fixing this issue.

NEXT problem:

Movie has English subtitles which I need....so in the Main Menu, if I select subs, and then click on PLAY MOVIE....first part of the movie plays fine with english subs...then when it transitions OVER to the 2nd half of the movie, the subtitles aren't on anymore...I've got to select it from the DVD Remote...how can I fix this?

Thanks in advance...I'm off to sleep now....11:30almost in the evening...hopefully there'll be an answer when I wake up.

{and slightly on the same line, I've got a few DVD9s that have this SONG MENU...if there are let's say 7 songs, and I select #3 in the list, it'll go to the 3rd song, but NOT as an individual PGC (?)....BUT you can see clearly the PGC (? I hope is the right term) is covering all 7 songs...you just happened to start PLAYING at the 3rd song of 7...and after you finished watching, it'll just keep on going at that point to the next song...not BACK to the song menu....so how do I fix that?)

We really can't answer this except generically without the IFO files (and menus), neither of which can be published here.

1. Use trace an PgcEdit to see why it is looping. You might need to set a register and go the the VTS 1 root menu, thence to VMGM and thence to the real menu. Design your navigation.

2. Again using trace, see why and how the subpic stream is being turned off and by-pass that command.

Could I even make screenshots of the IFO structure? I see people posting samples of video when they need help on that...wonder why we can't provide IFO structures here? :(

Because it's a breach of copyright. Read the sticky by mpucoder.

You can post trace logs, so long as they are not so comprehensive to be giving away the whole structure.
